    Gallatin Homes

Gallatin was established in 1802. The town was named after Albert Gallatin, Secretary of Treasury to presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. In 1815, the town was first incorporated and built around an open square. The Union Army captured Gallatin in February 1862; it was an important location because the railroad and Cumberland River were significant transportation routes which the Union Army wanted to control. The formerly prosperous area that had mixed farming and livestock raising needed years to get reestablished during the 20th century after much of both traditions were lost. Today, Gallatin is back booming strong.

The median home value for this area is approximately $196,301. Gallatin is located northeast of Nashville off of I-65. It is nearly 25-30 away from the center of the city, and the primary flagship streets are Long Hollow Pike, Red River Road, W Eastland Street, Blythe Avenue/Old State Highway 109, N Water Avenue/Dobbins Pike, E Broadway/Gallatin Pike, Nashville Pike, Airport Road, Lock 3 Road, Nichols Lane, Steam Plant Road, Hartsville Pike, Newton Lane, Scotty Parker Road and Bugg Hollow Road. Gallatin offers the following public school district options: 7 elementary (Jack Anderson, Union Elementary Year Round, Benny C Bills, Howard, Station Camp, Guild, Vena Stuart), 3 middle (Joe Shafer, Rucker Stewart, Knox Doss) and 3 high (R T Fisher Alternative, Gallatin Senior, Station Camp) establishments. Locals delight in several buildings restored with the National Register of Historic Places (Cragfont, Rosemont, Trousdale Place, Fairvue Plantation), JHR Sumner Shopping Center, South Gate Shopping Center, Gallatin City Park, Clearview Park, Municipal Park, Triple Creek Park, Bledsoe Creek Camping State Park, Lock 4 Park, NCG Gallatin Cinema, The Palace, Old Hickory Lake, Long Hollow Golf Course, Gallatin Country Club and Gallatin Civic Center and Pool.
